KiXX & EwingCole Present SocceRoo Bobblehead Night

Philadelphia, PA, December 9, 2003 â Philadelphia KiXX Executive Vice President/General Manager Greg Bibb announced today that the club has partnered with the nationally acclaimed architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning firm EwingCole to present SocceRoo, the team's mascot, as the bobblehead giveaway for the 2003-04 campaign. The doll will be distributed to the first 3,000 fans, 14 and under, and all season ticket holders on January 24, 2004, when Philadelphia entertains the Moneterrey Fury at the Wachovia Spectrum. The contest is scheduled to kick-off at 7:05 pm ET.
"As a corporate sponsor, we like to do something special to show our commitment to the KiXX and the development of soccer in the Philadelphia region," said James A. Wilson, AIA, President of EwingCole. "The SocceRoo Bobblehead is a great way to share part of the team with fans. We've supported this organization for three years and look forward to continuing the relationship."
SocceRoo, a native of the Australian outback, has entertained fans at each Philadelphia KiXX home contest since the club's inception in 1996. In addition to competing in his annual mascot game each season, SocceRoo was named the Most Valuable Player in the 2002 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) All-Star Mascot Game in Cleveland, Ohio. He can be seen at each KiXX home game and throughout the community at over 200 events each year.
KiXX captain Kevin Sloan was honored with the distinct pleasure of representing last year's squad as the bobblehead giveaway on February 8, while six-time all-star Peter Pappas was enshrined as the giveaway for the 2001-02 campaign.

Philadelphia will battle the Central Division leading Milwaukee Wave on Saturday, December 13. Game-time is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET at the Wachovia Spectrum. A ticket to the KiXX-Wave contest is good for free admission to a pre-game Variety Club carnival that will be held throughout the Wachovia Spectrum concourse from 4:00 to 6:00 pm ET on December 13. The carnival, held in conjunction with the Variety Club, will feature clowns, games and local team mascots and their respective inflatable. A portion of the night's proceeds will be donated directly to the Variety Club.
