Kitna, "Wicked" to Appear During Centennial Wireless Kickoff Week

The beginning of the 2008 Grand Rapids Rampage season is just four weeks away, and West Michigan's very own Arena Football League team is planning some of its biggest promotions yet to celebrate Centennial Wireless Kickoff Week. With home games just four days apart on March 10 and March 14, Rampage fans can get their fill of exciting football action while taking in the exciting appearances, new giveaways and special promotions on tap.

Monday, March 10 - San Jose SaberCats vs. Grand Rapids Rampage

- Game Match-Up - The Grand Rapids Rampage will kick off their 2008 season against the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats during the Centennial Wireless Kickoff Classic at Van Andel Arena. Doors open at 6 p.m. (EST), while kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

- "Wicked" National Anthem - The star of Chicago's company of the Broadway musical "Wicked," Dee Roscioli, will be on hand to sing the national anthem prior to kickoff. Roscioli headlines as Elphaba, more popularly known as the Wicked Witch of the West.

- Giveaway Item - All fans attending the Centennial Wireless Kickoff Classic will receive a Rampage 2008 magnet schedule courtesy of Woodland Creek Apartments.

- Dollar Drafts and Dogs - Fans can purchase hot dogs along with drafts of Budweiser and Bud Light for just $1. The offer will be available from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. only.

- Rampage Jersey Auction - At every home Rampage game, select autographed jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit various non-profit organizations across West Michigan.

- On-Field Postgame Autograph Session - After every game, Rampage players and coaches, along with the members of the Rage Dance Team and Blitz, will sign autographs for all fans on Centennial Wireless Field at Van Andel Arena.

Friday, March 14 - Chicago Rush vs. Grand Rapids Rampage

- Game Match-Up - In the first-ever Amtrak Classic rivalry game, the Grand Rapids Rampage will welcome the defending Central Division champion Chicago Rush to Centennial Wireless Field at Van Andel Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

- Guest Appearances -

- Detroit Lions quarterback Jon Kitna will be on hand to sign autographs for ticket holders prior to kickoff. Doors will open early at 5:30 p.m., and the autograph session will last until 6:45 p.m. Autographs are free of charge, but are limited to one per ticket holder.

- AFL Commissioner David Baker will be attending the game and will be a part of the ceremonial coin toss that takes place prior to kickoff.

- Giveaway Item - All fans attending the game will receive a black Rampage t-shirt to help Grand Rapids "black out" Van Andel Arena.

- Rampage Jersey Auction - At every home Rampage game, select autographed jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit various non-profit organizations across West Michigan. The March 14 jersey auction will help support the Pursuing a Dream Foundation.

- On-Field Postgame Autograph Session - After every game, Rampage players and coaches, along with the members of the Rage Dance Team and Blitz, will sign autographs for all fans on Centennial Wireless Field at Van Andel Arena.

TICKETS: Fans interested in picking out their seats to each of these games can stop by the Rampage's open scrimmage tomorrow (Feb. 12) at Van Andel Arena from 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. The scrimmage between the Rampage and the Cleveland Gladiators is free to the public, and the first 500 fans will receive a free hot dog.
