Cincinnati Kings News Release
CHARLOTTE, N.C. --In the opening match of their second season, the Cincinnati Kings lost to the Charlotte Eagles, 1-0, Friday night in United Soccer Leagues Second Division play. Charlotte, the defending Second Division champions, scored in the 23rd minute when 2005 Second Division Player of the Year Jacob Coggins scored on a pass through the defense from Sam Casey. Kings Head Coach Jon Pickup did not make the trip with the team this weekend because of a death in his family. John McGinlay served as acting head coach. The Kings stay on the road during this opening weekend for a game Saturday night against the newest Second Division franchise, the Richmond Kickers.
