Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons have re-signed left winger Michael Kiesman, who set career highs with 32 points and 126 PIM last season when he finished fifth on the team in scoring and second in penalty minutes.
Having completed four full campaigns as a pro, Kiesman's 15 goals and 17 assists last season totaled more points than his first three years combined. Once team captain Jason Weaver unfortunately had his season officially ended due to injury, Kiesman's breakout year got even better as the Falcons named him captain for the final 11 games of the season.
"Mike lived up to his billing as a hard-working, high-energy player and we were pleasantly surprised with the numbers he was able to put up," said Falcons Head Coach Greg Spenrath. "Once Jason went down, his leadership by example made it a no-brainer to give him the 'C' for the rest of the year. We're excited to have Mike back, and we know we're going to get more of the same from him this season."
Kiesman is the sixth player slated to return from last year's Falcons team and the 11th player signed overall, joining Mike Betz, John Dahl, Thierry Douville, Jordan Landry, Brian Passmore, Jack Redlick, Wes Rypien, Kevin Truelson, Dustin VanBallegooie and John Wroblewski on the roster.
Fresno will battle the Bakersfield Condors in a home-and-home pre-season series on Oct. 15 and 16 before opening the 2004-05 ECHL regular season on Oct. 22 against the Las Vegas Wranglers at Save Mart Center. Full season ticket packages and Flex Packs are on sale beginning as low as $42. For complete ticket information, please visit the Falcons website at www.fresnofalcons.com/tickets.html or call the Falcons front office.
