San Antonio Stars News Release
SAN ANTONIO (June 24, 2015) - Kids will take over the Freeman Coliseum on June 27 as the San Antonio Stars host the Seattle Storm at 7 p.m. on Silver & Black Give Back Night. Fans will receive SBGB sunglasses, while supplies last, as the nonprofit arm of Spurs Sports & Entertainment is showcased throughout the evening. Several students from SBGB programs were selected to enjoy the game-night experiences alongside members of the Stars staff. Each participant will act as a staffer-in-training for the day, getting a behind-the-scenes look at different aspects of the game, while earning hands-on experience in their chosen field. Students will serve as future greeters, Star Squad members, in-arena hosts, PA announcers, drummers, content producers, social correspondents and more.
The sale of each ticket purchased through the SBGB Night link on SAStars.com, using the offer code "SBGB", will provide $5 toward Silver & Black Give Back youth programs. Silver & Black Give Back invests in the community alongside Spurs Sports & Entertainment through youth programs like the Future Stars League and the Team Up Challenge. Mirroring the SBGB motto that "together we have the power to empower", the evening will celebrate the Stars' commitment to San Antonio's future through the city's youth.
Face painters and balloon artists will be set up around the concourse throughout the game, providing family fun for all in attendance. Stars fans can also join the celebration via social media by using the hashtag #SBGBNight.
