The 2024 USL Championship structure includes two 12-team conferences with Rhode Island FC set to compete in the Eastern Conference. For the competition format, RIFC will face every team in the East twice: once at home and once away. The remaining 12 matches of the season will be played against teams from the Western Conference: six at home and six away.

After the home opener, RIFC hits the road for two weeks on opposite sides of the country (March 24 at Monterey Bay, March 30 at Tampa Bay) before returning to Bryant University to face 2024 USL Championship finalist Charleston Battery (April 6) and Players' Shield winners Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (April 13). Two weeks later, RIFC welcomes 2024 USL Champions Phoenix Rising FC (April 27).

Other notable dates include the club's first derby match against Hartford Athletic at Trinity Health Stadium (June 1), hosting the regional rivals (Aug. 10), taking on Head Coach Khano Smith's former club, Birmingham Legion FC (Aug. 31), and Fan Appreciation Night and the regular season finale against Miami FC (Oct. 26).

The final month of the season will look to be a strong playoff push for Rhode Island FC, with the first round of USL Championship playoffs set for the weekend of November 1-3. The top eight teams in each conference will qualify for the 2024 USL Championship Playoffs, a single-elimination and a fixed bracket format. The 2024 USL Championship Final will cap off the postseason on CBS on a to-be determined date between Nov. 21 and Nov. 25.
