Richmond Kickers News Release
RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond Kickers are proud to host an official outdoor viewing party at City Stadium for the USA versus Paraguay Copa America Centenario game on Saturday, June 11.
The Club & Country Festival kicks off at 3:30 p.m. with live music, interactive fan zone, RVA food trucks and over 20 craft beers on tap before the Richmond Kickers host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 5:00 p.m. Then, the United States' group stage finale will be shown on the largest high-definition, outdoor LED screens in RVA on the main concourse at 7:00 p.m.
"Having defied expectations and attracted thousands of fans from across the region for RVA's first-ever World Cup outdoor viewing event in 2014, we look forward to building upon the excitement of the Copa America Centenario by creating an even bigger and better FanHQ experience at City Stadium," commented Shelley Sowers, Richmond Kickers General Manager. "This time, with the combination of supporting both USA and RVA, the atmosphere is guaranteed to be electric and we invite fans to celebrate this truly unique, once-in-a-lifetime event as we strive to sell out City Stadium for the first time in club history."
Following the global tradition of outdoor viewing parties, City Stadium will serve as RVA's official fan destination as the only CONCACAF and CONMEBOL-approved and licensed outdoor viewing event in Richmond. The Club & Country Festival will celebrate the highly-anticipated Copa America Centenario, a once-in-a-lifetime event, which honors 100 years of the Copa America tournament.
The historic centennial edition of the South American Championship will be staged outside of South America for the first time and will bring some of the world's best teams and players including top stars from North, South and Central America and the Caribbean including Lionel Messi, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, David Luiz, James Rodriguez, Kaka, Michael Bradley and Clint Dempsey to the United States.
