Erie Explosion News Release
(Erie, PA)- Record setting Erie Explosion players Adam DiMichele and Kevin Concepcion were named Co-Offensive Players of the Week by the Southern Indoor Football League for week #9. DiMichele continues to rewrite the SIFL record book, this time topping his own single-game record with 12 touchdown passes and 400 passing yards in the Explosions 90-79 win over the Trenton Steel. Those twelve touchdown passing now give the rookie quarterback from Temple a total of 70 on the season through nine games.
Erie receiver Kevin Concepcion continues to establish himself as the top scoring threat in Professional Indoor Football as he tallied 14 receptions for 202 yards and 7 touchdowns in the victory over Trenton. Concepcion has scored a staggering 36 touchdowns for Erie in nine games, and leads the entire SIFL in Receptions, total yards, touchdowns, and scoring.
"Adam DiMichele is playing as well right now as any quarterback in arena/indoor football. Kevin Concepcion has shown each week why he is one of the top receivers in the game. What stands out about these guys is that you could argue for player of the week honors for both of them just about every week. There extreme consistency in making plays and executing our offensive system is a big part of why we are currently in first place. I look forward to continuing our journey together towards the playoffs and bringing the 2011 SIFL Championship to Erie," commented Erie Head Coach Shawn Liotta.
The First Place Erie Explosion return home on Saturday May 21st to face the Fayetteville Force in a 7:00pm Kickoff at the Tullio Arena. For more information on tickets and the Erie Explosion visit www.erieexplosion.com
