Kentucky Bisons News Release
Owensboro, KY. The ABA Kentucky Bisons are moving forward at getting ready for their upcoming inaugural season that begins in December. The team has announced that the Fairfield Inn Marriott at 800 Salem Drive in Owensboro, KY has partnered with them to be the Bison's official hotel.
The Bisons will have fifteen home games and need accommodations to provide for the visiting teams. Jay Sills, CEO and owner stated, "We were looking for a good place for our opponents to stay and the Fairfield Inn not only meets, but exceeds my expectations. We are very excited that they offered to be the Bison's sponsor for hotel accommodations. I can only hope that when we travel to play our away games that we can stay in a hotel of this quality."
The team started a full practice schedule this week preparing for a busy pre-season schedule. The Kentucky Bisons are gearing up for their first pre-season game against the West Virginia Outlaws. The Outlaws, who have a former Kentucky Mr. Basketball, J.R. VanHoose, a 6'10" power forward and Lionel Armstead, a guard from West Virginia University, look to be a tough challenger for the Bisons. The game will be played at the Owensboro Sports Center this Sunday, October 12th.
The game is free for all to attend and will be preceded by a charity fundraiser for the Tri-State Food Bank and the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club. They have planned many activities that day including a "corn toss" tournament to benefit the Boys & Girls Club. The new Bisons" mascot, the Bison Girls, and Music DJ will be there with drawings for game tickets and Bisons gear. There will also be inflatable bounce rooms and games for the kids. The Owensboro Police and D.A.R.E will be on hand for finger printing kids and to talk to the youths and parents about the D.A.R.E. program. The activities start at 1pm with the game tipping off at 5pm. For more information, visit www.kentuckybisons.com or email david@kentuckybisons.com or call 270 782 7556 or visit www.abalive.com.
