The Kelowna Falcons made their 14 hour bus ride back home a little easier on Tuesday night after an 11-8 win in Klamath Falls. The Falcons concluded their six game road swing with a 3-3 record.

In the rubber match with the Gems on Tuesday the Falcons jumped out to a 3-0 lead after their first two at bats thanks to RBIs from Dillon Bryant, Greg Friesen and Keach Ballard.

Paul Schwindell, making his Falcons debut would give up the Falcons lead when the hometown Gems scored one if the second and four times in the third. He would last five giving up four earned runs, six hits while striking out six.

After the Gems took the lead 6-4 in the sixth, the Falcons offense came alive, scoring seven times on seven hits in the final three frames. The seventh inning was highlighted by Friesen's third homer of the season and third RBI of the game to give the Falcons a 7-6 lead, only to have the Gems tie it in the home half of the inning.

The two teams would trade runs in the eighth, but then Jeff Melby cracked his first homer of the season, a three run blast in the ninth to give the Falcons the lead for good.

Ryan Paterson records the win despite pitching just 0.1 of an inning and giving up a hit. Cade Bowen would throw the ninth and record the save, his third of the year.

Five Falcons hitters would have multi-hit games, as Nick Colwell continues to be hot finishing 3-5 with an RBI. Beau Hanowski, Bryant, Victor Rasor-Thompson and Ryan Stoup all had two hits apiece. Bryant's RBI in the second was his 10th to lead the ball club.

The Falcons (8-19) finish the six game roady 3-3 and will return home on Wednesday. The club will host the Corvallis Knights (14-12) for a three game series beginning on Thursday night at Elks Stadium. It's also Sack Pack night, the first 200 fans will receive a complimentary Falcons bag courtesy of Budget Car Rentals, Okanagan Dodge, Tonic's Pub and West Coast Authentic. Gates at 5:30pm, first pitch at 6:30pm.
