Kelowna Falcons Snap Win Streak
June 14, 2012 - West Coast League (WCL)
Kelowna Falcons News Release
Kelowna, BC: Wednesday night the Kelowna Falcons had their three game winning streak snapped, falling to the Cowlitz Black Bears 6-2.
The Falcons would allow six unanswered runs in the game after the Bears would combine for four doubles off six Falcons pitchers.
After scoring 23 runs in the three games against the Kitsap Bluejackets, the Falcons bats cooled off facing better pitching. Alec Cordova and Koby Gauna combined to allow two unearned runs and just six hits.
Falcons' shortstop Pat Johnson was 2-4 and scored a run. Cameron Alvarado, Greg Friesen, Brock Slavin and Tyler Qualls tallied the club's hits.
The Falcons will host the Black Bears again on Thursday night in game two of the three game series. The first 150 fans will receive a complimentary autographed team ball. Gates open at 5:30pm, first pitch at 6:35pm.
