Kelowna Falcons News Release
Walla Walla, WA: In his final start of the year Cale Coshow completely shutdown the Walla Walla Sweets leading the Kelowna Falcons ton a 5-0 shutout win on Saturday night.
The Falcons got on the board early in the top of the first as Greg Friesen would bring home Cameron Alvarado. It would turn out to be the only run Coshow and the Falcons would need.
The big righthander would throw eight shutout innings, scattering six hits, striking out three, recording his third win of the year.
In the fifth inning the offense would give Coshow some breathing room with three runs after two doubles. Alvarado would bring home Brock Slavin and Kyle Moses. Two batters later Kyle Pearson would bring home Alvarado for his team leading 33rd RBI.
In the eighth the Falcons would finish the scoring on a Jerry McClanahan RBI, bringing home Tyler Qualls.
The Falcons are hanging on to a glimmer of hope for a playoff spot. They still trail Bellingham by 3.5 games, who also won on Saturday beating Wenatchee. The Falcons (28-24) have two more games in the regular season. They will need to win both and Bellingham will have to lose their remaining five games.
Tonight the Falcons will conclude their series in Walla Walla. Brandon Marris goes for his eighth win of the season.
