Kelowna Falcons Lose Big
July 17, 2013 - West Coast League (WCL)
Kelowna Falcons News Release
It was not the start to a six game road trip the Kelowna Falcons were hoping for after being blasted 22-10 in Wenatchee.
The Applesox would score seven runs in two different innings (first and sixth), while scoring five run in the fourth.
The game started well for the Falcons, scoring a run in the top of the first inning as Cody Andreychuk punched in Darren Kolk.
Starter Marc Habeck lasted just 0.2 of the first inning as the Sox scored seven times.
The positive the Falcons can take away is the fact they scored 10 runs on 12 hits, five of which were doubles. Grayson Porter finished 3-5 with an RBI; Andreychuk was 2-4 with two RBIs, while Kolk and Chris Scaggari each had two hits apiece.
The Falcons have never allowed more than 18 runs against prior to Tuesday night. They will need to forget about this game and prepare for Game 2 of the series on Wednesday in Wenatchee.
