
Kelowna Falcons Fall to Yakima

For the first time this season the Falcons were shutout, falling 6-0 to the visiting Yakima Pippins.
It was the first meeting in history between the two clubs.
The Falcons outhit the Pippins, but not one of their 12 hits was for extra bases. Trey Kamachi, Kevin Biro, Josh Croft and Nick Minteer each had two singles.
Starter Kevin Flemer threw three innings, allowing three runs on two hits and struck out four, losing for the second time this summer. Ricky Clark threw four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and struck out five.
Offensively Brandon Grimsley collected a pinch hit extending his hit streak to seven games.
The Falcons (6-10) will host the Pippins (7-6) again on Wednesday night as right hander Matthew Moriarty makes his third start of the summer, looking for his first decision. It's also autograph ball night; the first 150 fans receive a complimentary autographed team ball. Gates open at 5:30pm the first pitch is set for 6:35pm.
