Kelowna Falcons News Release

Kelowna, BC: The Kelowna Falcons suffered their second loss in a row on Wednesday night, falling to the Klamath Falls Gems 10-4.

The Gems jump out to a quick lead scoring three times in the first inning on the strength of RBI hits from Kevin Davidson and Josh Wong. Before the Falcons would come to the plate, the visitors had a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the second the Falcons would tie it at three on an RBI hit from Kyle Moses and two double steals.

The tie however would be short lived after the Gems would score three more times in the top of the third to regain a three run lead. Wong again would produce an RBI hit, while Nick Rulli smashed a two run single.

The Gems would then extend their lead on a lead-off homerun in the top of the fourth from Parker Miles.

The Falcons would finally get one back in the sixth thanks to an RBI sac fly by Tyler Qualls to bring home Andrew Firth.

In the ninth the Gems would tally their third-three run inning to finish the scoring. Greg Velazquez and Wong would collect RBIs, while the third run was scored after a throwing error charged to Falcons' reliever Juan Padilla.

Wong would finish with four hits and three RBIs, just one night after hitting a homerun in the 10th to give the Gems the victory on Tuesday.

The Falcons fall to 18-12 and will travel to Wenatchee on Thursday to being a four game series with the league leading Applesox at 22-10.

Following a series with the Sox, the Falcons will host the Bellingham Bells beginning on Monday in a critical series with playoff implications on the line.
