Kats To Hold Open Player Tryouts

NASHVILLE (Oct. 15, 2004) â The Nashville Kats will give aspiring football players a chance to earn a spot on the team's roster when they hold open player tryouts at Baptist Sports Park (460 Great Circle Rd., Nashville, TN), the training facility for the Tennessee Titans, on Sat., Nov. 6 and Sun., Nov. 7.
The tryouts will be broken out into three sessions, with all athletes being tested in the 40-yard dash, broad jump, shuttle run, agility, individual and position drills. Registration for quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday, and is limited to the first 300 campers to register. Registration for kickers will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, and is limited to 50 campers. Tryouts for offensive and defensive linemen, fullbacks and linebackers will be held on Sunday, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. That session is also limited to 300 campers.
A $60 registration fee is required, and no guests are permitted at the tryout. Campers must be 18 years old to participate, and are expected to wear appropriate attire for non-contact football drills (i.e. sweats, shorts, shirts, molded cleats, or turf shoes â no metal cleats or sneakers). Parking will be available in the grass lot at the corner of Athens Way and Great Circle Rd. Participants should walk directly to the practice bubble at Baptist Sports Park.
Campers can pre-register by going to katsonline.com, printing the registration form and mailing it, with payment, to the Kats offices. Participants can pay via check or money order with pre-registration up until Nov. 1. Campers can also register at the tryout, but only cash or money order will be accepted as payment after Nov. 1.
