Spokane Shock News Release
The Spokane Shock announced today that OL/DL Katon Bethay has been assigned to their 2007 roster by the arenafootball2 League Office.
Bethay is the fifth player from the 2006 ArenaCup Championship roster to resign with the Shock under Head Coach Adam Shackleford.
Primarily used as a lineman, Bethay, 6'1" 295, still managed to score three touchdowns during the regular season in the eight games in which he played.
"Katon's film from last season was very impressive," Shackleford said. "I knew that he was a player who I wanted to be a part of our roster for 07 as we defend the Championship."
Before signing with the Shock last season, Bethay had a successful college career at Wofford. His senior season he led the team in tackles (81) including 20 tackles for a loss while recovering four fumbles. He was also selected to the All-South Conference first-team, and earned first-team Division 1-AA All American honors.
The Shock will begin their quest to defend the Championship on Saturday, March 31st as they host the Stockton Lightning on Northern Quest Casino Field at the Spokane Arena. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 509 242 7462.
