February 1, 2021 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) - Kansas City News Release

KANSAS CITY - Kansas City NWSL opens the 2021 Preseason on Monday with 29 rostered players and 11 trialists participating in training camp at the Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo.

The team opens with two weeks of preseason training in Kansas City before heading to Port St. Lucie, Fla., for warm-weather camp from Feb. 19 through March 5. Head Coach Huw Williams and his staff will use the time in the Florida sun to train on a high-quality pitch in ideal outdoor training conditions at Club Med Academies.

Kansas City's roster boasts eight players who have represented their country in major international competitions, including the World Cup and the Olympics. In addition, the team has another eight players who have represented the United States at the youth level (U-18, U-19, U-23).

Midfielders Diana Matheson and Desiree Scott were named to Canada Soccer's roster for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup last week and will report to camp following the tournament.

Victoria Pickett and Addie McCain, Kansas City's second and third draft picks, respectively, have exhausted their college eligibility and will be present for the opening of camp. First-round pick Kiki Pickett and second-round selection Lucy Parker will remain in college, competing in the NCAA spring season. The team's fourth round picks, Alex Loera and Brookelyn Entz, are also set to remain in college and compete in their school's NCAA fall season.

The club's two players acquired this past week, Chloe Logarzo and Kristen Edmonds, have not yet arrived in Kansas City, but will join the team soon. Argentinian forward Marianna Larroquette is expected to join the team in early February.

The 11 trialists invited to camp are Tristin Stuteville, Chestley Strother, Meg Brandt, Cali Farquharson, Cyera Hintzen, Jaci Jones, Allie Hess, Courtney Claassen, Kaira Houser, Rashida Beal and Ashley Nick.
