Kansas City Current Renews Partnership with OLIPOP in Anticipation of Historic Season at CPKC Stadium

Kansas City Current News Release
KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City Current has renewed its partnership with the functional soda brand OLIPOP. After partnering with the KC Current during the 2023 NWSL season, OLIPOP returns for the historic 2024 season in the first stadium purpose-built for women's sports in the world, CPKC Stadium.
As a component of the partnership, OLIPOP soda will be available at select locations inside CPKC Stadium. Furthermore, The University of Kansas Health Systems Training Center will maintain its supply of OLIPOP drinks and host tastings for the team to discover the various flavors throughout the season.
"We are so excited to continue and expand upon our partnership with OLIPOP this season," said KC Current President Raven Jemison. "We believe in nutritious and healthy options for our fans, staff, and players. We align with OLIPOP's values, and both of our brands are changing the game in our respective fields. It's only fitting that CPKC Stadium continues to blaze a new trail as the second pro sports venue to carry and sell OLIPOP."
OLIPOP was created by beverage entrepreneurs Ben Goodwin and David Lester, who set out to create a first-of-its-kind functional soda- one with the same familiar flavor profiles we all know and love but upgraded with digestive health benefits. Every can of OLIPOP contains two to five grams of natural sugars and provides nine grams of prebiotic plant fiber. Since launching in 2018, the brand has disrupted the beverage industry and amassed widespread appeal for its tasty, nostalgia-infused flavors and proprietary gut-friendly formulation- proving that delicious taste and health are not mutually exclusive. OLIPOP has also solidified its position as the fastest-growing refrigerated functional beverage brand in the United States as it continues to surpass legacy brands in national retail stores[1]. This explosive success illustrates why OLIPOP is truly changing the traditional soda category on a larger scale for the first time.
"We're thrilled to continue our partnership with the Current," said Steven Vigilante, Director of Growth and Partnerships for OLIPOP. "We learned so much from our initial partnership last season and are so excited to have product available for purchase in the new stadium. The love and support we felt from both players and fans in Kansas City last year was undeniable. As an innovator in the beverage category, we love finding partner organizations that think differently and are trailblazing in their own right, and the Current could not emulate that more."
