Kinston Indians News Release
Kinston, NC -- The Kinston Indians announce today the start of their new Lenoir County Public School reading program 'Tribe Tales' for all elementary and middle school students.
The program is set up so that after a student reads four books on their grade level they will receive a free ticket to any 2007 Kinston Indians game when they bring their signed bookmark to the ticket window.
"We are very excited to partner with the school system to promote reading and reward students by giving them a chance to come see a K-Tribe game for free," Kinston Indians General Manager Shari Massengill said.
Participating schools will also have the option to have a K-Tribe player come to their classrooms and speak to their students.
"We feel our players can be great role models to local students," said Massengill. "The Tribe Tales Reading Program will give students the opportunity to see our players both on and off the field."
Information on the Tribe Tales Reading Program will be going home with Lenoir County students in the next couple of weeks. The K-Tribe home opener is on April 9th at 7:00pm. Please call 252-527-9111 for tickets and information.
