Junior Blue Jackets lose to Gamblers, 1-0
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets lost 1-0 to the Green Bay Gamblers on Sunday afternoon at Nationwide Arena.
Both teams were held scoreless for the first 34:15 of the game. Ohio (7-32-7, 21 pts.) goaltender Corson Cramer made his second consecutive start, stopping 33 shots on goal.
The only goal Cramer allowed came 14:15 into the second period, when Green Bay (16-23-5, 37 pts.) forward Ryan Santana threw the puck in front of the net and it slid between the legs of the Ohio goalie. Taylor McReynolds and John Kearns were credited with assists on the play.
In the opposite crease, Adam Avramenko saved all 28 shots by the Junior Blue Jackets to earn the shutout victory. Avramenko made half of his saves in the third period.
For the game, Ohio was 0-for-5 on the power play, while Green Bay was 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
The Junior Blue Jackets play next Friday and Saturday at Tri-City and both games are set to begin at 8 p.m. (ET). The team then returns to Nationwide Arena on March 10 for "Pack the House Night" versus the Des Moines Buccaneers. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
