Minnesota Lynx News Release
Lynx Notes
After being sidelined for the last five games due to a cartilage injury in her right knee, Sylvia Fowles extended her league-best career double-double record to 187 (seventh this season) with 14 points, on 7-of-12 shooting, and 10 rebounds in 22:06 minutes of play.
This game marked Fowles' 205th Lynx game, moving her to sixth on Minnesota's all-time list in game played. The one steal Fowles collected tonight advanced her Lynx total to 269, now third on the franchise leaderboard in steals, passing Seimone Augustus (268)
Leading Minnesota in points for the second time this season, Moriah Jefferson tallied 21 points, connecting on 7-of-11 from the field including three from deep in a team-high 31:42 minutes. This marks the third contest Jefferson has hit at least three triples.
Aerial Powers registered 12 points on 4-of-13 from the field, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in 28:50 minutes of play. The six assists were just one shy of her career-high seven (MR: Jun 14 vs. Seattle). This marks the fourth game this season Powers has dished out 6+ assists and the fourth time she has collected at least eight rebounds.
In her sixth game back this season, Damiris Dantas collected 15 points, on 6-of-9 shooting, four rebounds and four assists in 25:38 minutes of play. Last season, Dantas only scored 15 points or more in one contest on June 23, 2021 against the Atlanta Dream.
Team Notes
Minnesota scored a season-high 100 points in tonight's victory over Phoenix, becoming the sixth team this season to reach that feat. This marks the 22nd time in franchise history the team has scored 100+ points in a regular season game with seven of those contests against Phoenix.
The Lynx advance to 2-0 against the Mercury this season, marking this first win-streak of the season while also snapping Phoenix's two-game win streak against Minnesota at home.
At the half, the Lynx led 60-48, marking a new season-high in most points scored in any half with the previous best at 50 points during the first half on June 19 against the Las Vegas Aces.
The Lynx bench players outscored the Mercury, 23-11, tallying the sixth straight game which Minnesota's bench outscored their opponent.
