KODAK, Tenn. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (7-11) defeated the Tennessee Smokies (9-9) by a 5-4 score in the fourth game of the five-game series at Smokies Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Miami Marlins right-handed starting pitcher Dan Straily (1-0), with the Jumbo Shrimp on a major league rehab assignment, earned the victory working five and a third innings where he allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits, two home runs allowed, with a walk and six strikeouts, throwing 88 pitches with 60 strikes.

Tennessee right-handed starter Oscar De La Cruz (1-3) took the loss, allowing five runs on five hits with five walks and four strikeouts. Jacksonville reliever Kolton Mahoney earned his first save, working the final three and two third innings in scoreless fashion, only surrendering a hit.

After the Shrimp plated two runs in the top of the second, Austin Dean started the third inning with a solo homer to put Jacksonville's lead at 3-0. Two batters later, John Norwood blasted a two-run homer to right field to grow Jacksonville's lead to 5-0. The Smokies chipped away with a solo homer by Jason Vosler to begin the third that made it a 5-1 game.

In Straily's final inning in the bottom of the sixth, Tennessee's Eddy Martinez hit a three-run homer to left that made it a one-run contest at 5-4, which would be the final score. Mahoney got the final two outs of the sixth, and also the final three innings in scoreless fashion to earn his second career save.

The afternoon began with a one hour and 14-minute rain delay, and there were intermittent light rain showers throughout the game.

The Jumbo Shrimp and Smokies will close out their series with the fifth game of the five-game set on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Nick Neidert (1-1, 4.30 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Tennessee right-handed starter Oscar De La Cruz (1-2, 8.25 ERA).
