Jr. Knighthawks Announce Tryout Dates

(Rochester, NY) -The Rochester Knighthawks, in conjunction with Roots Box Lacrosse, will offer the opportunity to play for the Jr. Knighthawks Summer Program. This year's co-presenting sponsors of the Jr. Knighthawks are UR Medicine Sports Medicine and Zweigle's.

Tryouts for the Pee Wee (U13), Bantam (U15) and Midget (U17) teams will be held on Monday, June 12 and Wednesday, June 14 at Total Sports Experience in Gates, located at 880 Elmgrove Rd, Rochester, NY 14624. The cost is $30 and includes a Knighthawks pinnie.

The Jr. Knighthawks will once again play in two tournaments. The kickoff event is the USBOXLA-sanctioned I-90 Cup on Sunday, Aug. 13 in Buffalo. The three teams will play in the prestigious Jr. NLL Tournament from August 18-20, competing against youth teams from other National Lacrosse League franchise cities across North America. The event is held in Oakville, Ontario.

Jr. Knighthawks teams will be coached by current and former NLL players as well as other box experts. Confirmed coaches include Knighthawks transition man Brad Gillies, along with Upstate Collegiate Box Lacrosse League (UCBLL) coach Jordan Jarvis and Roots Box Lacrosse coach Cory Holbrough. Other Knighthawk players to be announced at a later date.

Age Groups:

U13 (Formerly Pee Wee) - Born in 2011 or 2012

U15 (Formerly Bantam) - Born in 2009 or 2010

U17 (Formerly Midget) - Born in 2007 or 2008

All players receive a Knighthawks pinnie.

Players are encouraged to make both tryouts, but players can still be considered for the team if only one tryout is attended.
