Game Recap- Friday, April 20th @ Port Huron Fighting Falcons. 4-2 Loss.

Port Huron, MI- Alex Okicki's 29 saves weren't enough, as the Port Huron Fighting Falcons stole the show in game one of the North Division Finals with a 4-2 victory on Friday night at McMorran Arena.

Midway through the first period, Kalamazoo took a one-goal lead on the first of the post-season from Nick Kovalchik. Kovalchik stepped into the Port Huron zone along the right wing side and ripped a wrist shot past Fighting Falcons starting goalie, Max Milosek.

With less than twenty seconds to go in the first, Port Huron tied the game up at one apiece on the second of the playoffs by Joe Pizza. Pizza saw a loose puck in the slot and got his stick on it first to find the back of the net, past Jr. K-Wings goalie Okicki.

Kalamazoo took their second one-goal lead of the game, 10:49 into the second period on a goal by Kyle Gattelaro, his first of the playoffs.

The lead, however, wouldn't last very long, as Port Huron struck back less than two minutes later with the team leading fifth of the post-season by Kody Polin.

Port Huron took an early lead in the third, their first of the game on a tally by Jake Goldberg just 1:49 into the final period. The goal for Goldberg was his second of the playoffs, and gave Port Huron a 3-2 lead.

Adding an empty netter with 43 seconds left was Nico Sierra, his second of the playoffs, sealed the deal for the Fighting Falcons and gave them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five North Division Final.

Port Huron, MI- Port Huron's Mike Moroso notched two goals, as he lead the Fighting Falcons to a 5-2 victory and a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five North Division Finals over the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings on Saturday in Port Huron.

Port Huron picked up exactly where they had left off after last nights victory, by scoring two goals in the opening frame to jump out to an early lead. 4:36 into the first, it was Alex Archibald (1st) breaking the scoreless tie with a shot from the point that snuck past Kalamazoo starter Ken MacLean and found the back of the goal.

With less than two minutes to go in the opener, the Fighting Falcons extended their lead to two with a shorthanded marker and the first of the playoffs by Brett D'Andrea. D'Andrea took a wrist shot from the right wing side that beat MacLean stick-side.

Following that up and extending their lead to four, was Moroso. His goal, which was his third of the playoffs, gave Port Huron an insurmountable lead midway through the second.

Kalamazoo scored just 39 seconds into the third period to pull within three goals with over nineteen minutes remaining. Drew Graves (4th) lit the lamp with a power play tally that was assisted by Robbie Payne.

Port Huron silenced the Kalamazoo comeback attempt with Moroso's second of the game and fourth of the playoffs at 10:39 of the frame.

Kalamazoo scored once more, on a goal by Brett Beauvais. The goal was his second of the playoffs, and came on the power play. It wasn't enough, as the Jr. K-Wings still lost the contest by three goals.
