Jon Pelle's Late-Game Heroics Voted Best of the Week

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Rapid City's Jon Pelle has been voted the CHL Performance of the Week for his late-game effort on January 9th in a 4-3 victory over Wichita. Pelle scored the game-winning goal in his team's victory with just eight seconds remaining. Pelle has 12 goals and seven assists this season in 22 games played for the expansion Rush.

Pelle's effort earned 1,831 votes constituting 51% of the 3,584 votes cast. Coming in second place was Colorado's Greg Pankewicz who recorded his fourth hat trick of the season on January 10th in a 6-5 win over Rocky Mountain. Pankewicz earned 42% of the votes (1,508).

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week 13 of the season (Jan. 12-18) are as follows:

-Colorado's Konrad Reeder scoring four goals and earning MVP honors in CHL All-Star Game on January 14th

-Tulsa's Sean Collins scoring game-tying and game-winning goal in 3-2 shootout win over Mississippi on January 17th

-Laredo's Jeff Bes notching 900th career point in four point night on January 16th, a 6-3 Bucks win over Corpus Christi

-Texas' Brett Jaeger making 37 saves in a 5-0 shutout win over Arizona on January 16th

-Colorado's Kevin Ulanski netting hat trick in a 6-3 win over Odessa on January 16th

Fans can vote for the winner through Monday, January 26th with the winner being announced on Tuesday, January 27th.
