Jon Hall signs with Columbus Destroyers

Fayetteville Guard --- The Fayetteville Guard is pleased to announce the signing of defensive lineman Jon Hall to The Destroyers, a Columbus Ohio AFL team.

Hall was in his second week of Guard training camp when the call came down. He reported to a walk on tryout and was invited back to participate in the practice squad. Now, he's scheduled to be a starter on the Destroyer line

Hall a three sport, all conference athlete at Williamsport High School in Baltimore received an athletic scholarship for UNC Chapel Hill. As a right guard for the Tarheels Hall became a two-time Carquest Bowl Champion; as well as, a Gator Bowl and Las Vegas Bowl Champion. Midway through his four years, Hall transferred to North Carolina A & T where he anchored the offensive line for the 1999 Black College National Championship victory.

In 2001 Hall began his pro college career in the Arena 2 Football League with the Roanoke Steam. He went on to play the inaugural season of the Cape Fear Wildcats and remained with the organization until its final season in 2004. While with the Wildcats, Hall captained the team 54 straight games, resulting in two division titles.

"We wish Jon the best of luck in all his endeavors," said Guard Head Coach Terry Smith. "He is a skilled athlete and will be an excellent addition to the Destroyers."
