Join the Crew: Reading Express Giving Berks County Kids Opportunity to Dance

Reading, Pa. (December 23, 2010) - The Reading Express indoor pro football team will be hosting its first audition for the new Junior Junction Hip Hop Crew on Sunday, January 9, at the Sinking Spring Family YMCA from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The audition is open to kids age 6-16.

This is an exciting opportunity to showcase the best young dancers in Reading and Berks County. The Junior Junction Hip Hop Crew will be performing at four Reading Express games in 2011.

The Junior Junction Hip Hop Crew will be facilitated by professional choreographers and will be sure to provide a challenging level of choreography to all participants. The audience can expect to see exciting and energetic routines from the top youth performers in the county.

The Junior Junction Hip Hop Crew is under the direction of Alexandra Plank, who brings over 16 years of dance experience to the program.

"I'm extremely excited to introduce the talented youth of Berks County," said Plank. "It's going to be great to give these kids the opportunity to perform for thousands of energetic fans, an opportunity many would otherwise never experience. I hope we can pull out all the stops and really bring something unique and cutting edge to the city of Reading and Berks County."

For the Reading Express, the Junior Junction Hip Hop Crew marks a big step in the organization's effort to be a community pillar in Reading and Berks County.

"We continuously striving to be a community-focused organization," said Tim Glase, general manager of the Reading Express. "While football is our core, our organization has so much potential to be multi-faceted. We really believe adding the Junior Junction Hip Hop Crew to our game day experience will only strengthen our engagement with Reading and Berks County."

Performances: The four games during which the Junior Junction Hip Hop Crew will perform are the February 26 home opener versus Lehigh Valley; the March 11 game against Bloomington; the April 1 contest with Lehigh Valley; and the June 4 season-ender with Richmond. All performances will take place on TRHMG Field in Reading's Sovereign Center.

In addition to performing at Reading Express home games, the Junior Junction dance team will also have the chance to participate in parades, community appearances and other team functions.

Reading Express Indoor Professional Football began play in 2006 in the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa. In five seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 64-20 with four playoff appearances, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading will begin play as a new member of the Indoor Football League.
