Johnstown Falls Short to Jamestown Friday Night

The Johnstown Tomahawks fell short to the Jamestown Rebels in game one of two on the road in New York this weekend by a final score of 4-3.

Ryan Waltman opened the scoring for Jamestown 2:37 into the game. Tyler DesRochers tied the game up for Johnstown four minutes later, scoring his fourth goal of the season. The period ended tied at 1.

AJ Reed regained the lead for the Rebels 9:44 into the 2nd period, followed by Zachary Murray scoring on the power play to make the score 2-all. Jak Vaarwerk gave the Rebels the lead going into the 3rd period, as he scored with 28 seconds left in the middle frame.

Waltman secured the win for the Rebels, scoring his second goal of the game on the empty net with 24 seconds to go in regulation. Johnstown showed no quit though as Jake Black scored his 39th goal of the season with only four seconds left, ending the game with a 4-3 Rebels win.

The two teams face off again tomorrow night at Northwest Arena at 7:05 pm.
