JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville Armada FC forward Jemal Johnson was named to the North American Soccer League Team of the Week on Wednesday.

Johnson, a former English Premier League striker from Paterson, N.J., scored in the fifth minute against Minnesota United FC last Friday on a sliding kick toward the bottom left of the goal off a cross from midfielder Lucas Scaglia. It was Johnson's fourth goal of 2015, tying him for the team lead with fellow forwards Alhassane Keita and Pascal Millien. It was Johnson's first goal of the Fall Season and 29th of his career.

He also tallied the assist on Keita's goal in the 72nd minute when he zipped a cross through the box, and Keita blasted the ball past United FC 'keeper Mitch Hildebrandt. It was his second assist of the season.

It was the second Team of the Week honor of 2015 for Johnson and eighth time this year an Armada player was named to Team of the Week. He was also named to Team of the Week after setting a new modern-day NASL record when he scored 12 seconds into the Armada's Spring Season opener against FC Edmonton.

Jacksonville will return to action at 7:30 p.m. ET this Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rowdies in another Coastal Cup showdown from Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla.
