DAVENPORT, Iowa â With over 250 tickets sold for the Steamwheelers road game at Peoria, Ill. this Saturday night, 7:05 p.m., sold to Quad City fans, Johnnies Italian Steakhouse in Peoria has set up an official pre-game party from 4:30 â 6:45 p.m. for the hundreds of Steamwheelers fans that will attend the game against the âWheelers nearby rival, the Peoria Pirates.
Johnnies at John Deere Commons in Moline, Ill., hosts the home pre-game tailgate parties for large crowds of Steamwheelers fans so it was a logical choice for Johnnies Manager Brad McCullum to welcome the roadies to their Peoria restaurant which opened several months ago.
The Steamwheelers team will eat their pre-game meal there as guests of Mike Whalen before heading over to the Peoria Civic Center.
Several shuttle buses will make the trip to Peoria, as they follow their Steamwheelers to its final regular season finale.
The "Ruler of the River" traveling trophy between the Steamwheelers and Pirates will be on display at the Peoria Johnnies during the party. The restaurant will offer drink and food specials for the Steamwheelers faithful.
