
Joerger Leads CBA National All-Stars to Victory

Cedar Rapids, IA (January 21, 2004) The 2004 CBA All-Star game will go down as one of the most exciting games in the CBA's fifty-eight year history. Current CBA Dakota Wizards and USBL Cedar Rapids River Raiders' Head Coach Dave Joerger led the National squad to a come from behind victory as they went into half time behind by eighteen points. This was Joerger's second consecutive year coaching the CBA All-Star Classic for the National team. The National All-Stars came out of half time fired up. They closed the gap by outscoring the American squad thirty-nine to twenty-one in the third quarter. The game ended when a last second shot was missed by Dakota's Eddie Gill, rebounded by Dakota's Ben Ebong and put back for the decisive basket, thus giving National All-Stars their second straight victory. Joerger was joined by four of his current Dakota Wizards players; Kaniel Dickens, Ben Ebong, Eddie Gill, and Ray Weathers.
The River Raiders will start its inaugural 30 game regular season (15 home games) in April of 2004 at the U.S. Cellular Center in downtown Cedar Rapids. The River Raiders are an expansion franchise of the 19 year-old United States Basketball League. Season tickets are on sale now!
