KW Titans News Release
(Kitchener, Ontario) - The National Basketball League of Canada has announced that Joel Friesen of the KW Titans has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending December 9, 2018.
In his first game with the Titans this season, Friesen, a 6'4 guard who played collegiate basketball at the University of Alberta, came off the bench to score 31 points and pull down six rebounds in the Titans' 123-97 Sunday afternoon game against the London Lightning.
"Joel has been a significant part of our league for the past three seasons," said Chuck Miller, NBL Canada League Statistician.
"In his first game back in the NBLC, and coming off the bench, he drops 31 points against his old team. That's showing some serious fire."
Friesen's home debut will take place on Thursday December 13th at 7:00 PM as the Titans host the Sudbury Five. The team is encouraging fans to bring an unwrapped gift to fill the team's branded Nissan Titan in support of the Salvation Army.
Single-game tickets can be purchased at KW Tickets at 1-800-265-8977 or at the Activa Box Office at the Aud.
