The Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) Titans is a professional basketball team in the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC). Entering its fifth season, the KW Titans are accepting applications for the role of Home Game DJ. This role is a key essential staff member, helping the organization achieve public recognition of a community entertainment event that everyone wants to attend.

The Home Game DJ is an essential part of the KW Titans Corp marketing team and sets the foundation of each in game experience. Your role is key to increase fan engagement, retention, and community awareness. You will follow and uphold the policies, procedures, and mission statement of the KW Titans Corp. organization as well as the NBLC. You interact thoughtfully, respectfully, and professionally with athletes, fellow coaches, staff, volunteers, parents, and community. You will be actively engaged in the Waterloo Region and surrounding communities, and embrace the mission and values of KW Titans Corp.

To be successful in this role, you will set the in game experience energy through proactive creativity during the game anticipating and responding to crowd energy and game flow. Key aspect is knowing your audience, and what music will reach a broad fan base, as well as keep the athlete energy high during the game.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Music for the duration of the event (In-game, warm-up, stoppage)

Create a variety of playlists ahead of events

Responsive to ebbs and flows of a basketball game and be proactive to keep fan energy high.

Support the delivery of service to the different groups audience groups from the community in attendance

Execute music requirement for protocols

Work closely with the announcer for timing

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work 12 home games as scheduled by the NBLC

You will be required to be set up and ready to run music starting 2 hours prior to each tip-off.

Hours are predominantly evenings and weekends

Ability to exercise initiative, and good judgment

Experience as an in game DJ

Understanding of nuances of the game of professional basketball

Passion for music and entertainment

Ability to work with a diverse group of people

Able to stand for long periods of time and lift over 20 pounds

Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to make quick decisions under pressure

Attention to detail

Must have an excellent memory and superior concentration skills

Work Environment
