Minot Skyrockets News Release
Minot, ND - May 2, 2007 - The Minot Skyrockets starting point guard Jitim Young has signed with a team in the Dominican Republic. Young has joined the Cupes in an effort to help them win the Santiago Turneo Finals. He played in his first game with the team on Sunday and added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the victory, tying the Finals Series 1-1.
Young played in all 47 games in the Skyrockets inaugural season, averaging 13.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. Young graduated from Northwestern University where he was named to the All-Big Ten Conference First Team in 2004.
"This will give Jitim an opportunity to continue improving on his skills and game management. He will have a chance to get ready for the NBA Summer Camps. It is always nice to see so many CBA players getting good jobs overseas," said Head Coach Chris Daleo.
Jitim joins seven other Skyrockets players who are continuing their careers in other leagues around the world. For more information, please call the Skyrockets at 839-SLAM.
