
Jimmy Buffett Night Saturday As Mallards Host Bloomington

MOLINE, Ill. (April 8, 2010) - *The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the Mallards will host Jimmy Buffett night Saturday evening when the Mallards take on the Bloomington PrairieThunder at 7:05 p.m. and that Saturday will also see the Mallards partner with teams of firefighters from the Quad Cities and Chicago for a benefit hockey game at the i wireless Center in support of the Wounded Warrior Project and former East Moline firefighter Patrick Francois.
As part of the Buffett night festivities, Quad Cities favorites the Fry Daddies will perform a pre-game concert chock full of Parrothead favorites beginning at 6:15 p.m. inside the i wireless Center and will return to entertain fans again during the first intermission. The Fry Daddies- Dave Ellis (guitar/keyboard/vocals/percussion) and Dave Stanbro (bass/mandolin/harmonica/guitar/vocals/percussion)- are reknowned for their keen sense of humor and willingness to elicit audience participation.
In honor of Buffett Night, beverage specials will be available at i wireless Center concession stands during Saturday evening's game. In addition, Special Parrotthead seating is available for Saturday night's game through the Mallards business office (309-277-1364).
Saturday afternoon's benefit game between the Quad City and Chicago Firefighters will face off at 3:00 p.m. Tickets to the benefit game are available for $14 and also include admission to the Mallards' game Saturday evening. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit both Patrick Francois, who suffers from colorectal cancer, and the Wounded Warrior Project. In addition, a 50/50 raffle will be held during Saturday's afternoon's game to benefit both causes.
The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors by raising awareness of and enlisting the public's aid in meeting the needs of severely injured service men and women, helping severely injured service members aid and assist each other and by providing unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.

The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.
