Jim Riggs completes his assignment with Pee Dee Cyclones
June 2, 2006 - SPHL (SPHL)
Twin City Cyclones News Release
Pee Dee Cyclones General Manager Jim Riggs has completed his one-year commitment to the Southern Professional Hockey League team.
"I want to thank original owner Dr. Richard Hoodenpyle, Bill Coffey, and the SPHL for the opportunity to come to Florence and get the franchise up and running this past season," said Jim Riggs. "The plan from the beginning was to be here for one season and now with local ownership (Bob Kerzner & Tommy Jones) solidly in place, I look forward to my next management challenge.
"I'm proud of the fact that with limited resources we were able to bring new entertainment such as the "Zooperstars" and the "Incomparable Christopher" along with our world exclusive "Ice Lights" to the sports fans of the Pee Dee. We can also take pride in being the first SPHL expansion team to qualify for the playoffs.
"Finally, I want to thank Mr. Kendall Wall and his terrific staff at the Florence Civic Center. They have been outstanding to work with. I wish all the folks that I met this past season nothing but the best and wish the Cyclones organization much success in the future."
