Jets topple Warriors 4-1 in opener of weekend series at Perani Arena

Robin Hoglund (21, 22) scored twice, once into an empty net as the Janesville Jets took the opener of a key weekend series against the Michigan Warriors at Perani Arena Friday night.

Mitch Wedding scored his first of the season for the lone Warriors tally. Janesville also got goals from Jordan Himley (23) and Carson Vance (4) as Janesville chased Warriors goaltender Trevor Gorsuch from the contest early in the 2nd period.

Brock Kautz stopped 45 of 46 shots fired at him, including 28 in the first period to pick up the victory in net for Janesville, Robbie Beydoun made 16 saves in relief of Gorsuch who took the loss for the Warriors.

Janesville and Michigan will drop the puck at Perani Arena Friday afternoon at 5:30 to play the 3rd Period of the suspended contest between Janesville and Michigan from January 11, and then drop the puck again at 7:00PM to play game two of the weekend series.
