
Jets start the season with a win

The 2004-05 North American Hockey League season started with a win for the Fargo-Moorhead Jets this past weekend.
Lance Malark scored two goals as the Jets defeated the Bismarck Bobcats on the road Saturday night. Kyle Graalum and Tom Dickhudt added the other goals for the Jets in the victory. Dan DiLeo earned the win in net.
The win marks the second straight season that the Jets have opened with a win in Bismarck.
"I was impressed by the way my guys played," said head coach Todd Knott. "It always feels great to start with a win, especially when the season begins on the road."
The win came after Fargo-Moohead concluded an impressive pre-season, with two wins and an overtime loss. The Jets defeated Billings and the Shattuck-St. Mary's prep team, but lost to Bismarck in a shootout.
Chris Myhro had five goals during the Jets pre-season schedule.
This Week's Schedule: Saturday, September 25, at the Bismarck Bobcats, 7:00 p.m. The Jets will practice from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. all this week at the Fargo SW Arena
Home Opener Approaching: The Jets home opening weekend is Fri. Oct. 8 against the Bismarck Bobcats and Saturday, October 9, versus the Minnesota Blizzard. Both games will begin at 7:05 p.m. The October 8 home opener is sponsored by Bennigan's Grill and Tavern of Fargo and will feature player introductions and plenty of festivities.
Youth Pre-Season Skills Clinic: The FM Jets will be sponsor a youth hockey clinic from September 27-October 1 at the Fargo SW Arena. Participants will receive six hours of on-ice instruction during the camp, which will be run by Jets' head coach Todd Knott, and members of the team.
7-10 year olds will skate from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. nightly, while 11-13 year olds
will be on the ice from 7:45 p.m. - 9:15 p.m.

National Anthem Tryouts: The Jets will be announcing within the next few days details regarding tryouts for national anthem singers. Check the Jets official website for more details.

The FM Jets are in their second season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 29th year of operation.
Jets home games are played at the John E. Carlson Coliseum in Fargo, ND. All games are broadcast on STAR 103.9.
