Jets Name Strasheim New GM

(Fargo, ND) - The Fargo-Moorhead JETS of the North America Hockey League have named Steve Strasheim their new General Manager. In that capacity, the 28-year- old Montana native will be responsible for all aspects of the Jets' day-to-day operations. Strasheim takes the reins after spending the last four seasons as the Director of Operations for the organization.
"This is an exciting time for the franchise" said Strasheim, "We have a lot of young talent on the team this year which looks very promising. This organization has a winning tradition and we will continue to search for ways to improve our performance both on and off the ice."
Strasheim will continue some of his previous roles with the team which include operations, sales, and marketing; however, will now be involved in the hockey operations aspect of the team. "I look forward to working with Coach Johnson and Coach Kinslow in putting a winning team on the ice this season." Strasheim added. "You are only good as the people you have around you, and I have total confidence in both our coaching staff as well as our front office staff."
The JETS promoted Strasheim after former GM Randy Neilsen stepped down to join his family in St. Paul, after being with the Jets for the past four seasons.
Strasheim graduated from Aaker's Business College, Fargo, ND, with a degree in business management, and has previously worked in retail.
The JETS finished the '06-'07 season with a 37-19-6 record, first place in the Central Division, and made it to the second round of the play-offs before being swept by the Southern Minnesota Express in that round.
