Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

(Fargo, ND) - The Outlaws prevented the Jets from getting a successful landing, prevailing 4-3 over the Jets tonight at the Coliseum.

In the first period, the Jets seemed to take the upper hand right out of the gate. Roman Krivda (Ukraine) unleashed the first shot for the Jets at 16:14, followed by Jordy Trottier and Marc Mihulka. With a huge hit by Michael Benedict and a turnover at 11:30, the Jets were still strong halfway through the period.

Just after the ten minute mark, the Jets faltered a little when Andrew Muir missed a behind the back pass from Patrick Deitz (Moorhead, MN), but jumped right back on the horse and retaliated the turnover. Assisted by newcomer Joe Beaudette (Blaine, MN), Robby Phillip (Thief River Falls, MN) and Andrew Muir (Hallock, MN) brought in the Jets' first goal at 9:04.

The puck went back and forth in the beginning of the second half of the period, but the Outlaws ended up taking the Jets' luster with 5:29 left as #14, Bryant Scarda, pushed the puck past Okland's goalpost for a goal to tie the game at 1-1. Not only did the Outlaws see the Jets' goal, but they raised them another shorthanded goal from Ross Ring-Jarvi at the 3:09 mark to end the first period 2-1, North Iowa's advantage.

The Outlaws grabbed the first goal of the second period just 30 seconds in as Shea Walters let goal number three fly past Elliot Okland. Goalie Joe Dawson quickly replaced Okland within the first minute of the second period and hung tough throughout the rest of the game. Just after four minutes, the Jets' two Marks' brought a nice play together.

Using a beautiful set-up from Harrie, Mihulka was able to bring the score to 3-2 Outlaws. With just over seven minutes of play left, the Jets called the Outlaws' bet and made the score a tie game with an unassisted goal from Beaudette.

Entering the third period with a 3-3 tie game, the Jets seemed to lag behind a little bit, being unable to step up on any of the power play advantages. Rookie Justin Brausen racked hit after hit on the ice, but the score was deadlocked at 3 for over half the period. Play went back and forth until the Outlaws eventually pulled through for the lead. At exactly the four minute mark Travis Peckscamp sunk one into the net to put the Outlaws at 4-3. With a little over three minutes to tie the score back up, the Jets pulled Dawson to put a 6 on 5 man advantage in the Outlaw zone. The effort was in vain, as Beaudette's shot in the last second of the game blasted just wide of the post, leaving the Jets shot 4-3.

The Jets will welcome fans to join in Pre-Thanksgiving activities with "Tick-Tac- Turkey" and Turkey Bowling Saturday night to finish off the home set with the Outlaws. The game will be facing off at 7:05pm and can be heard on 103.9 "The Truck" and fmjets.com.
