Jets Attendance Significantly Up

February 21, 2007 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

Fargo (ND) Crowds have been visibly growing at the Carlson Coliseum and there is cold-hard factual proof of it as well. Through games played February 18th, the Fargo-Moorhead Jets are sporting the third largest percentage increase this season in the North American Hockey League, and have seen their fan base enlarge over 100% since the inaugural season of 2003-2004.

Over their first 22 home games, the FM Jets have drawn 21,409 fans for an average of 973 fans, the fourth highest in the NAHL this season. It's an increase of 11% over the 879 fans per game in 2005-2006 and a 116% increase over the 450 fans per game that came out in 2003-2004.

This attendance figure doesn't include the franchise-record crowd of 2,328 that attended the December 2nd exhibition game against Team USA.

The FM Jets' have the third highest attendance increase in the NAHL this season, trailing only Southern Minnesota (17%) and Alexandria (13%). Of the NAHL's 14 franchises that also played last season in the same market, a total of five have seen an attendance increase. In addition, the FM Jets' are averaging more than the league average of 950.

So far this season, the FM Jets have had nine crowds of more than 1,000 and two crowds top 2,000.

The FM Jets (33-12-3, 69pts) lead the Central Division and travel to second place Southern Minnesota (29-20-3, 61pts) on Friday and Saturday night in Owatonna.

NOTE: These numbers are different than the NAHL attendance figures found on pointstreak, because those numbers also include attendance reported at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN which are actually "neutral-site" games.

The FM Jets Junior A Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 31st year of operation. For more information, visit fmjets.com or call (701) 235-2354.

Jets home games are played at the John E. Carlson Coliseum in Fargo, ND. All games are broadcasted on Today's Hot New Country 103.9 THE TRUCK and audiosportsonline.com.
