April 23, 2009 - California League (CalL1)
Lancaster JetHawks News Release
The Lancaster JetHawks, Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros, will return home to the Hangar Thursday night to open a seven-game homestand against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and the San Jose Giants. The homestand opener Thursday will feature Cheers Buck Beers ($1 draughts) while a lucky fan will have a chance to win $1,000. The weekend series with the Quakes includes special giveaways Friday and Saturday night.
Fans can enjoy $1 draught beer until the seventh inning Thursday as the JetHawks welcome the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, a farm club of the Los Angeles Angels, in their first visit of 2009. And on Thousand Dollar Thursday, a fan will go on the field with a one in three chance of winning $1,000. Friday night, fans who arrive early will receive a free Minor League Baseball pin and fans Saturday will receive a portrait commemorating the JetHawks 2008 Southern Division Championship. During the Sunday in the Park, fans can bring or borrow a ball and glove and play catch on the field next to the JetHawks while they're warming up for the game.
After the JetHawks finish the series with the Quakes, one of the most star-studded teams in the Minor Leagues will come to the Hangar as the JetHawks host the San Jose Giants. The Giants have each of the top five prospects in the San Francisco Giants farm system, including ace Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner, who is scheduled to pitch Tuesday night, is considered one of the three best pitching prospects in the minors.
