
JetHawks Lose to Sixers 4-3; Team splits Four Game Series at Inland Empire

San Bernardino, CA- The JetHawks were held scoreless over the final eight innings, as they dropped the final game of the series with the Inland Empire 66ers, 4-3 at Arrowhead Credit Union Park on Sunday evening.
All of Lancaster's run were scored in the first inning. With one out, Steve Garrabrants singled to right and Dan Uggla was the hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second. Jon Zeringue doubled home a run, and one out later Doc Brooks singled home two runs to give the JetHawks a 3-0 lead.
However, Lancaster was held to just five hits over the final eight innings, and would not score again in the game.
Inland Empire scored single runs in the fifth and in the sixth before adding two more runs in the seventh to earn the 4-3 come-from-behind win.
Pete Zamora allowed only two runs (one earned) on five hits over six innings of work, but did not figure in the decision. The loss was charged to Greg Belson (2-1), his first loss of the year.
The JetHawks are off on Monday, and will open a six game homestand on Tuesday night at the Hangar The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and 66ers will come to the Antelope Valley during the homestand. In the game on Tuesday night against the Quakes, Jesus Silva will go to the mound for the JetHawks. The Quakes will counter with Steve Shell in the 7:15 p.m. game.
