(LANCASTER, CA) - Grant Hogue went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI triple and two runs scored and the JetHawks got home runs from J.C. Thompson and Jonathan Meyer in a 7-5 victory over Inland Empire at Clear Channel Stadium Saturday night.

The JetHawks grabbed the early lead with a run in the bottom of the first. Hogue doubled to start the inning and advanced to third when Jio Mier grounded out. Austin Wates drove in Hogue with a sacrifice fly that gave Lancaster a 1-0 edge.

Lancaster struck for five runs an inning later. After Jonathan Singleton singled off 66ers starter Max Russell, J.C. Thompson belted a two-run home run off the batter's eye in center field. Jonathan Meyer followed with a solo home run and Hogue added an RBI triple later in the inning.

The JetHawks added a run in the bottom of the third when Federico Hernandez hit an RBI single that plated Andy Simunic and made it a 7-0 ballgame.

Inland Empire got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth when Eric Oliver blasted a solo home run off JetHawks starter Jose Cisnero.

The 66ers scored three runs in the sixth when Cisnero ran into control problems. After striking out Adam Younger to start the inning, Cisnero issued consecutive walks to Jose Jimenez and David Harris. A wild pitch enabled both runners to move into scoring position and Jon Karcich delivered a two-run single, which chased Cisnero from the contest. Inland Empire got another run later in the inning on an RBI groundout from Dwayne Bailey, which made it a 7-4 ballgame.

But Kyle Greenwalt allowed just two hits and one unearned run in two and 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the save. Cisnero (8-9) got the win and Russell (0-2) was charged with the loss.

The JetHawks improved to 15-27 in the second half and 43-69 overall. Inland Empire fell to 21-20 in the second half and 53-58 overall.

The JetHawks will embark on a three-game road trip to Visalia, which begins Sunday night at 6. Right-hander Zach Grimmett (4-9, 6.73 ERA) gets the start for Lancaster while Visalia is expected to counter with right-hander Diogenes Rosario (5-4, 5.07 ERA). Tune in to CSN@JetHawks.com and FM 87.7 Kickin' Country for all the live action beginning with the pre-game show at 5:45 p.m. The JetHawks return home August 11 for a seven-game homestand against San Jose and Modesto.
