
JetHawks Drop Opener To Storm in 11 Innings

(Lake Elsinore, CA) - Stephen Drew had his best game as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks origination, as he hit a pair of home runs and drove in four for the JetHawks on Tuesday night. However, the Storm came back to beat the JetHawks 5-4 in 11 innings at the Diamond in Lake Elsinore.
Lancaster posted the first run of the game when Drew blasted a ball over the right field fence in the top of the second to give the JetHawks a 1-0 lead
Fernando Valenzuela Jr. tied the game at 1-1 in the sixth when he hit his seventh home run of the year.
The JetHawks would regain the lead in the top of the eighth inning. With one out, Miguel Montero walked. Chris Carter singled to center, with Montero taking third. Drew then hit his second home run of the game, a 425-foot shot over the left field fence to put the JetHawks up 4-1.
Matt Chico, who was pitching in front of family and friends from near by Fallbrook, allowed only one run on three hit, through seven innings. Chico also struck out seven in game.
The Storm came back to tie the game at 4-4 as they scored a run in the bottom of the eighth and two in the ninth.
In the Bottom of the 11th, Lake Elsinore would load the bases with one out. Juan Ciriaco lined a single past the drawn-in infield to drive in the winning run.
The series in Lake Elsinore continues on Wednesday night. Garrett Mock will make the start for the JetHawks and Arturo Lopez will take the mound for the Storm in the 6:00 P.M. game. The JetHawks Clubhouse show returns on Wednesday starting at 5:00 P.M. on Magic 1340 AM, the radio home for JetHawks baseball.
