Jersey Express Vs Shooting Stars Basketball Scholarship Fundraiser

The Jersey Express Professional Basketball Team, along with Science Park High School, the Alumni Association along with Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, are coming together to host the 1st Annual Shooting Stars Basketball Scholarship Fundraiser.
On Saturday, April 5th at 1pm, the Jersey Express will participate in the annual fundraiser. The game will be held at Science Park High School, located at 260 Norfolk St, Newark, NJ 07103. Doors open at 12pm, with a 1pm tip-off.
The Express come off a tough playoff loss, and look to prepare for next season. "How better to prepare, than to get right back out into the community. Our goals have not changed; we'll continue to be an intricate part of the communities that we represent in New Jersey. Several players on the Jersey Express roster reside in Newark, and have ties to the community. This will be a fun and exciting game for them and the residents of Newark; stated Co-owner Marsha Blount.
The Jersey Express was formally known as the Newark Express, and began play in Newark, NJ in 2005. The Express spent two seasons in Newark, playing out of Essex County College, before relocating to Morris County, NJ and Drew University for the 2007-2008 season. In 2007 the Prudential Center opened in Downtown Newark, NJ and has become your New Jersey Home for Sports & Entertainment. The Express are proud to have started the franchise in Newark.
