Jersey Express News Release

Rockaway, NJ - The ABA Jersey Express Professional Basketball Team participated in the Tribeca/ESPN Sports sponsored Family Day, held in Tribeca in NYC. The Express represented the American Basketball Association (ABA), at the annual street fair.

Professional Sports teams from the Tri-State area joined in with ESPN to bring a day of fun-filled family sports activity to the Community. Represented were the Jersey Express, NY Knicks and Liberty, NJ Nets, NY Giants, NY Jets, NJ Devils, NY Islanders and Rangers, along with the Brooklyn Cyclones.

This annual event takes place during the Tribeca Film Festival, and continues to grow annually. "We're pleased to have been invited to participate in this annual event. Our goal is to become as well known in the area as some of the other local pro teams, and this shows us that we're doing the right things in promoting the organization; state Express team President Marsha Blount.

Howell stated, "I love doing events like this, it's cool. The kids like it, and their parents like seeing the players in person". We do a lot of community stuff, and I hope the people come out and see us play. Now they can put a face to the name".

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
