Madison, NJ -- New Head Coach Clarence Thompson brings a unique combination of knowledge and experience of the game.
A graduate of Oral Roberts University, Coach Thompson set a school record for 3-point field goals made in a season, earning him the nick-name "The Mad Bomber". So profoundly gifted as a shooter, and a defender, you had to meet him at half court - just in case! His impressive college career, which includes scoring over 1100 points in only 2 seasons, was punctuated with his induction into the ORU Hall of Fame.
"An accomplished professional who is no stranger to our community, Coach Thompson has played on or coached for 14 years in the Continental, US and Eastern Basketball Leagues, earning 3 EBA titles with the Morris Revolution, as a player and coach. His resume tells the story of a dedicated, accomplished leader, with a proven track record for success. Coach Thompson has a deep passion to help ready his players for the next level. It's great to hear a coach speak of not only wins and losses, but of educating," quoted Marsha Blount, Co-owner.
Coach Thompson stated "training camp can't come soon enough. We'll not only be competitive, but my goal is to challenge for the league title. Drew University is a great venue, and I look forward to opening night, November 10th".
