
Jeff Zywicki Named Offensive Player of the Week

(San Jose, CA, January 17, 2007) --- San Jose Stealth Forward Jeff Zywicki has been named Offensive Player of the Week by the National Lacrosse League.
Zywicki was selected after scoring ten goals and one assist in two games this weekend. On Friday night the sophomore sensation lead the Stealth to a 17-16 overtime road victory over the Calgary Roughnecks, scoring seven goals in the contest. Zywicki scored three of his goals on the power play and collected three loose balls in the win. On Saturday Zywicki scored four points on three goals and an assist in a 14-11 home loss to the Arizona Sting. Two of his goals came on the power play and he also collected ten loose balls in the loss.
This is the fourth Player of the Week Award for Zywicki who was named NLL Rookie of the week three times last season (weeks ending on January 12, March 15 and March 22). In his rookie season, Zywicki led the Stealth in goals (27), power play goals (nine), shots (169) and was tied for the team lead in game winning goals (one) in 16 games played.
The San Jose Stealth (1-2) head back east this weekend to take on the Philadelphia Wings (0-2) on January 20 at 4:30 p.m. PST.
